PROJECT: Web Design (hand coded)*
BRIEF: Design and produce a standards-compliant ten-page or more website only via hand coded html/css, including a sitemap, menu, a working CGI form, relative links, meta tags, optimized images, css positioning, consistency with fonts, graphics, color, and content. All pages must validate.
SOLUTION: A fourteen-page website, initially created for a web publishing class final project. Site graphics were all original, created in Illustrator and modified in Photoshop. Included PDF download links, a fill-in contact form that generated a “thanks” reply on submission. On completion of the class (with an A!) the site was further expanded, and used as the family sailing/cruising website. It later included an online photo album created in JAlbum, a blog, and dynamic links to the vessel’s exact location sent via satellite phone while offshore on ocean passages.
