PROJECT: Digital Garment Printing (various)
BRIEF: Art production, typography, and pre-press for DTG (direct-to-garment) output on nearly 100 different t-shirt and hoodie products for e-commerce company, PatentWear, which specializes in historical patent art and the stories behind the patents.
SOLUTION: Receive initial colorized art files from illustrator, and finish all production, including layout, DTG press prep, pre-flight and pre-press checks. Create separate finalized art files for printing on light-colored garments and blacks. Create main images for both, and a pocket-sized image for the fronts of light t-shirts. Submit all press ready files to printer. Perform press checks and tweak colors as necessary for consistent, maximized results. Create web images for display, shopping cart, and web ads (21 images per each product) to match final sample prints. Most of the art is a collaboration, produced by a team of three: art direction and initial research by Joe McKeown; colorized art/illustration/layout by Dave Manousos and Nancy McKeown; final typography, layout, production pre-flight, and web art by Nancy McKeown.
